Why is there (or some) a conflict between science and religion?
There are conflicts between science and religion; religion will argue that all the good things that happened God is responsible for it, and all the bad thinks that happened devil is responsible. Ultimately, God does not wish to cause harm to it creation; a religious person will argue that all the good that happens to you is because that’s the way God wishes to happen. For example if a loved one pass away, a religious person will try to cope the loss of it thinking that it was on God’s desire for that person to pass away and that it was his time. This kind of arguments will differ from a science perspective because in science almost everything has an answer, so in the case of the loss of a loved one, science will justified saying, that the illness of that person causes it death and not God. An argument from the book The Great Mystery is that faith and spirituality are states of consciousness or awareness. I will argue that faith is a survival skill; we like to have faith on something because with our faith is it easier to explain thinks or blame things that we do not understand. In comparison with science, there is actually necessary research to understand the causation of something. As mention by Dr. David Lane during my philosophy 8 class, we do not have the capacity to understand the universe there is no way possible that allow us to understand everything that happens on our surroundings, so things that we cannot understand we try to give it an explanation with our faith.
