1. Why is understanding physics and the general rules of the universe so important in doing philosophy?
Understanding physics and the general rules of the universe are important while learning about philosophy because of several reasons. Philosophy is the critical study of the basic principles and concepts of a particular branch of knowledge. Physics is the science that deals with matter, energy, motion, and force. Since philosophy is the study of the concepts and principles of many things, philosophy also can be considered a form of physics because it is studying the core of everything on earth and what it is made up of. When learning and studying philosophy, you need to know the basis of where things come from, and that is precisely where physics comes in. Although physics may be complicated to learn and study for some, it is an important part of philosophy and helping to find out what each thing is exactly made up of. As it is written, “everything we see around us is just the mixing of different types of atoms(Lane 21). This is showing that everything is made up of atoms, and so when looking at philosophy, we need to realize that those things we study in there are also made up of atoms and other matter, which is why we should also know physics to compare the two.
