1. Why is understanding physics and the general rules of the universe so important in doing philosophy?
A:
Looking throughout history we see great philosophers not only striving in philosophy but physics and some sciences. Example of this can be Plato, which is a great philosopher and also know for his brilliance in mathematics. Anther example of this is Aristotle, which is also a great philosopher and also know intelligence in science. it was mentioned in the movie history of western philosophy" that Aristotle wrote “that search for knowledge and meaning still goes on”. A few points can be taken from Aristotle’s statement. The first thing that can be taken out is that knowledge is directly related with our meaning; this is because the more we know the more we get to find out about our existence. The second thing that can be understood from his statement is that one without knowledge cannot be a philosopher, as he cannot answer questions that humans want to be answered. From the beginning of human’s existence we as a species have always had and will always have questions that will need to answered. That is how we were programed. Questions like: why are we here?, what is our purpose?, etc, can only be answered with the knowledge of the other sciences that is around us. An example of this is physics, believe it or not, physics has calculations to the extend that can calculate how much black holes are in our galaxy. The knowledge is crucial to philosophers, so they can answer the questions that all philosophers have always looked for the answers.
