What is eliminative materialism?
The first part of Eliminative materialism, “Did God do it?” primary claim what and how people’s thought in mind eventually due to there have been something philosophy, sociology, myth, physics, chemistry and physics could not explain, den it may be done by God. God did it was the rule that everyone believed in and it was the best answer to everybody’s questions.
For example, there was a mystery of Malaysia airline couple months ago, and nobody could answer where the airplane fell down. Can we say God knows? Some people possibly believe in that. Hence, if a broke my leg in the past and asked why, people would say “original sin” or something like that. Today, people would say, your leg suffered great pressure and it couldn’t withstand it so it broke. Which explanation would you want? I definitely want someone to give ma scientific reason what happened to my leg and use the right method to cure it for me.
Second, not only unexplainable mystical happening but also the belief of ghosts and gods are the debatable issue in universe. How do you view life after death, witch craft, life and death? Do you believe in reincarnation? Personally, such the questions people must think rationally and logically even though we somehow rely on faith which is our own spiritual support in life.
Almost everything can be explained today with a good knowledge of physics. You know physics well, you know chemistry well, you know biology well and you well know sociology well. In the end, you will know philosophy well. Almost anything can be solved with physics. The questions which we couldn’t find the answers in the past are all getting revealed. Even why people conflict can be solved by protons and electrons! Did god really do everything? Considers revising, nature did it probably, physics did it, not god. This is what we really need to keep in mind.
