Why is understanding physics and the general rules of the universe so important in doing philosophy?
By viewing the video “Electric Surfing,” it explores the fundamentals of electricity and the basis of physics. Plus, it shows the creation of electrons and protons- protons have a positive change, and electrons have a negative change of the electrons. The positive charge of the protons is equal to the negative charge of the electrons, and opposite charges attract each other within fields. It made me understand the correlation among science, philosophy, and universal life.
The script in the film can also explain why there is always a debate between different thoughts, religions and even philosophy. For instance, take the debate, some say philosophy is just philosophy; but the truth is that philosophy is more than just philosophy. Instead, if you know physics well, you know chemistry well; if you know chemistry well, you know biology well; if you know biology well, you know sociology well. In explaining why there is always conflict between religions and cultures, this might seem like sociology, but if you use the same pattern above, you can trace it back to biology, chemistry and last physics.
To sum up, the relation of protons and electrons can actually explain this, different cultures and religions attract each other just like the way protons and electrons do in a certain field. Therefore, can this actually be why there is conflict, maybe you are the proton and the person you don’t like is the electron.
