To understand the importance of doing philosophy is to understand the importance of knowing physics and the general rules of the universe, as one cannot do philosophy without understanding why in the first place we are doing philosophy, which is knowledge and wisdom to question the thought or knowledge of sciences.
One can take for example that understanding our existence and the existence of the universe is to understand our cognitive self and be in-depth touch with our soul conscious of existence and our soul or spirit to God, as the body by itself does not function without a cognitive soul or spirit, thus the importance of knowing our physical existence correlated to our cognitive spirit or soul, as to be able to function in a physical world and universe. In doing philosophy one question the physics and the general rules of the universe to continue the evolution of wisdom and learning, which in return lead us to more scientifically and spiritual discoveries and understanding to our existence and our own self, and to a constant psychological itching of motivation to reach and try to know the unknown, as it is the case of Quantum dualism and the effect that measurement has on it, were we are trying to reach the conclusive by questioning the inconclusive, which raised the dilemma of understanding probability vs. objectivity of reality, thus concluding probability as a conduit to objective reality. In doing philosophy or in order to question something we should first have knowledge of that something to be able to arrive to a sensible reasonable conclusive cognitive thought. Thus, we may agree, disagree, and question the reasonable or unreasonable conclusive or inconclusive argument, which is the basic principle of Philosophy.
