Socrates a Greek philosopher was accused and sentenced to death, for his beliefs and critical thinking. He did not believe in the Gods of Athena, which means that he did not followed the system. He was also accused of corrupting the mind of the youth with his teachings and philosophies. There were a lot of people that did not agree with him, and they became his enemies, which later sentenced him to death by poisoning. Socrates, went to trial were he was found guilty because of the influence of his enemies, the judge decided to sentenced him to death by poisoning. In the book How Socrates Died, narrates his journal and how was he was not afraid of his conviction; he took it with pride. He was convincing of his knowledge. Socrates acknowledges is his time to depart when the poison reaches his heart, the book states “when the poison reached his hearth he should then depart” (83).
