There is a conflict between science and religion because their beliefs are based on two separate ways of thinking. Scientific beliefs are based on studies, data collection, test and scientific theories. People use science to explain how or why certain events occur in nature. Religious beliefs are based on their faith and usually their reasons for explaining natural occurrences have a spiritual aspect to them. Religion also faces a threat from science. As science progresses so does our understanding of the world we live in. As a result of this science is able to answer a lot of questions that needed answers and disproves a lot of beliefs that religions had. The conflict between science and religion will always exist. “Yet, if we probe further we discover that such a plant is made up smaller constituent parts such as millions of cells,” (Lane 4) this is an example of how science can break down an object and find out everything that is involved in making a tree.
