The conflict between science and religion can be quite confusing on how it works. They say that spiritual literature promotes itself as being scientific and they found out that all scientific activities are now dismissed because it does interfere with religion. Stated in the matter book, “When a particular guru instructs the neophyte to go within the laboratory of ones own body to verify the factualness of their respective theology, he doesn’t mention that such subjective experiences should be open to varying interpretations of what they could possibly mean.” To me, no one will really understand how these two work, but we need both of them to work together somehow. Not only are they difficult to understand but they are also a part of our lives. We may not think science is used in everything we do, but it is. Along with science, religion is a huge factor as well because there are people who believe in God or practice religious morals.

Hi Natalie,
I agree with you that science and religion should work together even though it might be hard for some people to do so. As mentioned in the book, many religious people are reluctant to accept science as a possible means to explain spiritual items because they falsely assume that science or matter is fixed and is unable to explain the dynamic phenomena in the spiritual world. However, the disclosure of facts of our consciousness not necessarily interferes with the religious practices but in fact, might offer some sort of clarity and truth.

Hi Natalie-
I agree that science and religion or faith must go hand in hand. As you made a point science is very important for our everyday lives to understand the matter of our bodies, and religion is the manifestation of our faith to our existence, which I consider it to be connected to our own inner conscience or spirit. I think that everything we do in life is part of science and everything we hope for in life is part of faith. We cannot foresee the future, so before we attempt to accomplish anything in life we first have hope or faith, and we cannot accomplish it without science because it is part of our existence and our existence is part of our faith. We usually get in touch with our hope and faith when we find our self under difficult situations. For example NASA scientists use science to send a shuttle in to space and to Mars. However, before sending the shuttle they have hope or faith that the shuttle will make the journey to Mars; otherwise they would probably not attempt the journey at all.
