1. Why is the theory of evolution so important in understanding how human beings behave? 2. Which questions do you think evolutionary theory cannot answer? Be sure to support your answers with references to the required readings and films.
The theory of evolution is important in understanding how humans behave because through the course of evolution our minds are developing and consistently changing through time. This is important because through time our minds have changed, we use to believe in multiple gods and their abilities to control our lives. But now, by using eliminative materialism we have scientific explanations for these things, such as electrical magnetic currents, viruses, and bacteria. We have become very scientifically advanced, and now have scientific answers for almost any of mans mystery's. The reason humans act the way they do has everything to do with our past. Throughout time we have overcome many obstacles and answered many questions. These things are passed down generations and dictate the way we think and behave.
Some questions I don't think the evolutionary theory can answer are; How did life originate? Evolution can not explain how a bunch of chemicals came together to form the first living cell. Another unanswered question I have is, Where did the materials come from that formed the universe, and if there was no space, where did they exist? This question can not be answered using the evolutionary theory because, something, can not come from nothing. One more question I have is, where did life originally come from? If space did not exist then how was life formed, and where did it come from. Going back to what i said before, something cannot come from nothing. If nothing existed, then there would be no gasses to form the first cell, and no materials to form the universe we live in.
