Why is Faqir Chands experience important in understanding the projective nature of religious visions and miracles?
"The visions are only because if the impressions and suggestions that a discipline has already acceptedin the mind. These impresdions and suggestions appear to him like a dream. No body comes from without, this is the plant truth" (Chand). This statement and the idea behind it is to show that religious visions and miracles actually tricks of the brain. Religious visions are usually confirmation if the religious person belief or are brought about because of something they saw or heard.
If there is, only one true spiritual realm there wouldn't be any difference between all religious visions and notions. A good example is a near breath experience. In the book " The Cerebral Mirage," states, it may well be that when ever the body-brain is under severe stress (such as when one has a heart attack or is in a car accident), consciiusness elicits an ultimatum package of pattern meanings, draw specifically from ones own unique biographical psycholigical history, to encourage one to live and resist dying.". This could be consideref Darwinian because it would be a great survival tactic. It us amazing how your own brain would be able to trick you so that you believe that there is dome deeper meaning, cause, purpose, or reward that you would be able to be given because you continue to live and not die.
What is meant by the phrase "philosophy done well is science, philosophy dine poorly remains philosophy."
This means that philosophy is not just one subject, rather than a cimbination of different ideas and theories and the ability to understand various aspect. Theories and hypithesis are the beginning of science and if course sciences are supported by concepts, like physics and/or mathematics. Science us used to back up claims. If science isn't used to support your claim then how will people know if the truth us being told?
In the book "The Iceanic Metaphor," stated, "if the properties if vonscioysneds can indeed be shown to be precisely determined in rigid cause-and-effect fashion NY physical state if the associated mmaterial, then conscious phenomena clearly belong the subject matter of basic science." Usually the properties of consciousnesd makes it seem quanties because we think we truly understand better. So therefore, philosophy us science with cause hands effect.
