Do you think artificial intelligence will be a significant problem in the future?
In reviewing the theories of how the brain process information and how it works, since infancy to adulthood, I think of artificial intelligence as using the same concept, which is the ability to learn from presented experiences, but in this case with predetermined perceptions. Artificial intelligence would definitely have positive impact as well as negative impact, and as everything in our world it has to be regulated to avoid missed used and to avoid harm to others. The positive impact will be in the way that it would take over from the limits of our brain as our neurons get exhausted and we have the need to sleep to recuperate from neuron activity exhaustion, were as artificial intelligence can keep processing and learning without exhaustion, thus, cutting the time it takes scientist on research to find cures to diseases and disorders. In our personal life styles technology can continue to provide us with social communication tools, and the flexibility of electronic storage of information, however, privacy issues will continue to build up as a concern and as stated in the book; “the best way to keep your privacy is to act as if everything you do is in public”. In the emerging of new technologies, privacy concerns have been taken in consideration, but it has not been enough, as identity theft continue to be a concerning issue. For example, in an article from Wired news magazine; in March 2015 it was discover that Premera Blue Cross medical insurance company may have been hacked for a period of eight months, exposing to hackers medical records and social security numbers from millions of insured patients www.wired.com/2015/03/hackers-may-taken-medical-records-insurer-premera/ in that same article it talks about the illegal access of medical records at UCLA. Nonetheless, I think that emerging technologies has numerous positives that help us in life, as it is the case of GPS to find directions to destinations, being able to communicate remotely to our home electronic gadgets, the connectivity to our educational information from anywhere, and the access to reading books and articles at any time and anywhere, therefore using time wisely and more productive.
