1. Do you think artificial intelligence will be a significant problem in the future?
I think that artificial intelligence could not be a problem in the future. From smartphone assistants to driverless cars, the tech giant is gearing up to be a major player in the future of artificial intelligence.Current computers can already complete many tasks typically performed by humans. An artificial intelligence machine that can learn the same way humans do, and has the equivalent processing power of a human brain. Artificial intelligence, in some sense, it is engineering inspired by biology. The video, Is the Universe an App?states “the hypothesis that the universe is the result of a computational simulation, and as such is an incredibly rich and detailed delusion which has ultimately tricked us into believing otherwise.” I think this isn't possible because we can be even tricked into believing that the computer has intelligence. We want machines to be able to learn in the way that they learn, to speak, to reason and eventually to have consciousness. Artificial intelligence is engineering, but it is also science. In the video The Codex Funeral it is said that "the future is not something we enter. It is something we create". This shows that artificial intelligence can only be a problem if we let it become one. This video,Alan Turing, talks about Alan Turing, a mathematician, he invented “ The Turing Machine” when he was twenty four years old at 1936. It is a hypothetical device which represents a computing machine. The machine requires an infinite amount of tape where symbols may be written and erased. The head reads information with a camera, and writes information with a dry erased marker. A table instructs the machine what to do. The state register stores the state of this machine. After watching this video, I find out how clever Alan Turing was. At the early period of time, he was already thinking about the artificial intelligence. In Wikipedia, it states that Alan Turing is considered to be the father of theoretical computer science and artificial intelligence. His exploration has a great contribution to computer science. I am really amazed by his accomplishments.
2. How has technology impacted your life?
Technology has had a huge impact on my life. I'm the type of person who likes to have the latest and greatest in terms of technology. My smart phone is pretty much my best friend. I am on it 24/7 and it never leaves my site, I don't even let people hold it. As people can see, phone has been improved a lot since the first one came out. The phone is getting smarter and smarter, just like people. Now users can talk to the phone, make siri talks back, answer the question, text for the user, and even make reservations for the user. What if one day you are being eliminating by the technology that is made by your people? People should realize that technology is not just making our lives easier and easier, but also making people lazier and lazier. In the video, “Time Machine" has the idea of making the universe as the coffee, when the coffee moves with the spoon. Time machine is always been a hot topic to people, which represents people's dream to go back to the past and see more from the future. This video talks about how it is possible to people to make this machine comes true, and what is the problem. The time machine's ability is taking people back to the time when they should do something but failed. Everything, every technology development is inspired by people's memory and memorial past. It is now possible to make the time machine, with technology has been developed so fast in modern society. This machine is the evidence to inspire people who has small dream and ambitious. The video "Ray Kurzweil" has mentioned about how technology has developed in recent decades. From a huge machine to a small touch screen tablet, computers is changing people' lives every minute. By 2020, Kurzweil has mentioned that computers could become more and more powerful even go beyond people's brains. Technology is a double-edged sword in every uses. People are sharing the same among of information as the technology develops, but the down side of the use of technology is appearing in our lives. Ray mentions that people are benefit more than be hurt by the technology. Even though people are benefiting from the computers, they are losing privacy. The same technology help people find more resources; it's the same technology sharing our private information to others. Technology is becoming more human-like, as speech recognition, artificial intelligence, and nanotechnology become viable. People and technology will get so interconnected that familiar distinctions People should develop technology day by day, and it is more clear that there is nothing to stand against its development, but at the same time people should develop themselves not only physically but also mentally to prepare for a higher level of natural selection.
