eliminating the sense of mythical immaterialist believes in favor for more tangible modern and materialistic scientific approach is in a sense the given description of eliminative materialism. Based on the videos of Eliminative Materialism it gives an insight of some examples of what Eliminative Materialism rejects or oppose to:
1. The sense that one will eventually get better from an illness in favor of getting diagnose and knowing what the illness is in order to get it treated.
2. The sense that things happen because they must happen in favor for the scientific approach that there is a logical explanation of why something happened.
3. The sense or thought of mystical believes for more scientifically proven facts

.
My reaction to it is that is somehow radical, but necessary to open the mind. I think that religious believes should be taken in consideration. Thus, it is understandable that we will all have different interpretations, understandings, and comprehension about the subject, and must be taken into consideration, as understanding existence is part of a comprehension process. As for another example: science is looking for life in another planets specifically in the planets that exist within the habitable zone around their star or sun. That concept from an eliminative materialism point of view would not be acceptable because it can not be logically proven to a materialistic sense at this moment, since as they have not yet discover anything in concrete and it is an abstract idea, and even if it is discover there will always be more abstract ideas of their own existence. In a sense abstract ideas that are not logical or proven to everybody are ideas necessary and part of our existence from the scientific and religious point of view.
